Why should I obtain the Security+ certification?
CompTIA’s Security+ certification is often viewed as an introductory certification to the information security field. The Security+ certification exposes professionals to a wide range of topics and fields that implement security. Objectives range from securing network components, to disaster recovery planning, to even server room layout and physical security.
Do I need any other certifications prior to Security+?
No, there are no prerequisites necessary for Security+. However, it is recommended that you obtain the Network+ certification. Additionally, having at least 2 years of experience in the security field helps.
What can I do with a Security+ certification?
There are many fields that require or implement the Security+ certification. Currently, there are more than 100,000 job listings that are available to Security+ certified professionals. These job titles cover a wide range including, Security Analysts, Security Team Leads, Incident Responder, etc.
When can we take the new SY0-601 version of the exam?
The launch date for the SY0-601 version is November 2020. The current SY0-501 will expire next year in July 2021.
If I pass the exam, how long is the certification valid for?
The certification is valid for a period of 3 years. However, there are two methods of keeping your certification valid. You can either retake the latest version of the exam every three years, or you can complete 50 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) through various activities.

Some of my coworkers attended a boot camp to prepare for Security+. What is a boot camp?
The idea behind a boot camp is great. A few days jam-packed with materials that will “ensure” that you pass the exam. However, due to the fact that the exam covers such a wide range of topics, a few days of cramming the materials is not helpful at all. Many of our current students have gone the boot camp route, only to fail the exam. We have divided up the exam components into smaller more manageable portions. This helps in both learning and retaining the material. We have used learning science as the backbone to our learning delivery to help you learn for the long term.

How long will I have access to my online portal after the course ends?
All students have 6 months of unlimited access to their online portal. This includes all of the pre-recorded objective videos, recorded live session videos, and practices tests/quizzes/questions.How long is the course?
The course length depends largely upon your personal preference. The On-Demand course can take anywhere from just a few weeks on an accelerated schedule to the full six months of access we provide to the course. In short, this course is designed to fit around your busy schedule.

What is light board technology?
Light board technology uses an illuminated glass pane between the instructor and the camera that allows the instructor to illustrate concepts while remaining face-to-face with students. We use a light board during our instruction so you can follow along in real time while your instructor demonstrates important topics in cybersecurity. Though we do use PowerPoint in our lessons, there is no “death by PowerPoint” in our course.
How many practice questions are available?
There are more than 350 practice questions in our system.
When will I receive access to the LMS for my course?
You will receive login credentials for the LMS and your diagnostic exam the week prior to the start of the course.
Is there a cancellation or refund policy?
Please note sessions are defined as usage of online resources including the diagnostic, or proctored exams.
